Comfortably Numb Re-Imagined — Roger Waters & Mona Miari
“Comfortably Numb Re-Imagined” is a 2026 collaborative reinterpretation of Pink Floyd’s classic song “Comfortably Numb,” performed by Roger Waters and Palestinian artist Mona Miari. The project reframes the original song’s themes of emotional detachment and numbness through the lens of displacement, grief, collective memory, and the ongoing struggle for justice and human dignity.
Featuring newly written verses in both English and Arabic, the piece expands the song into an audio-visual statement about war, loss, resilience, and the danger of becoming desensitized to mass suffering. Miari’s Arabic contribution includes “Hind’s Lullaby,” a section dedicated to six-year-old Hind Rajab, while Waters’ new writing reflects on memory, accountability, and the value of human life.
The official project brings together artists and production teams from Palestine and beyond, combining music, film, typography, animation, and visual design. The work is presented as both a musical release and a humanitarian campaign, with donations directed toward the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
The release includes a full-length version and radio edit, with the Apple Music listing showing the full-length version at 8:05 and the radio edit at 3:00.
