The Living Pins – Chateau

Description

For those that could use The Little Golden Book version of The Living Pins origin: Carrie Clark and Pam Peltz were both playing guitar and singing in Sixteen Deluxe and Ursa Major, respectively, in Austin TX in the mid-90s. They formed The Living Pins as a side project simply to have fun. They don’t actually remember why The Living Pins stopped gigging. Maybe because both their bass player and drummer moved out of town? It’s all lost in the fog, but cut to the Twenty-teens, and Pam and Carrie found themselves at a cocktail party wondering why The Living Pins didn’t play shows anymore. They couldn’t remember why, so they set up a practice. When everything shut down, in March 2020, they’d already been talking with Jeff Copas (Sixteen Deluxe, Mule Ear Recordings Engineer) about producing some songs. The three set up an ad hoc recording session in a warehouse in East Austin and over two weekends in the Fall of 2020, the Freaky Little Monster Children EP was recorded. It was released in April 2021 with kind of no expectations. But the EP was liked by so many people. And The Living Pins like to be liked.
